With the severe weather forecasted for this week, it is likely that we will not be attending school face-to-face tomorrow with the possibility of additional days out for the remainder of the week. Tomorrow and any day that follows on which there is no school, we will proceed with our Remote Learning plan. Students were sent home with devices and work packets last week in the anticipation of this winter storm. Please ensure that your child(ren) is logging in daily to complete assignments or that he/she is completing the paper/pencil work sent home. If we are out of school for several days and your child(ren) is completing paper/pencil work, please be aware that he/she may have additional work provided upon return to school with a completion due date. Last week, we only sent work for a couple of school days. If your child is learning remotely, using a chromebook, please ensure that he/she completes work daily/regularly while not attending school face-to-face. We know this is not the perfect learning situation, but we always strive to continue to provide the best access to learning/education possible for all of our students. Administration and teachers at PES, appreciate your help as parents! Together, we can continue to do the best we can for our young minds! If you have questions, please reach out to your child's teacher(s). Stay warm and safe!

ALL Valentine's and boxes MUST be in the classrooms (to provide the 72-hour wait time) before giving to other students NO LATER than Tuesday, February 9th. ALL snacks for celebrations MUST be store bought, individually packaged items and MUST also be in the classrooms NO LATER than February 9th. If there is inclement weather on the 9th, the Valentine cards, boxes and snacks MUST be in the classroom on the date that we return to school to allow as much wait time before distribution as possible. The plan for flower/gift deliveries on Friday, the 12th: If possible, we ask that parents please consider just purchasing items and giving their gifts on Valentine's Day, which is a Sunday, instead of having deliveries made to the school. We would like to limit contact with outside germs/potential virus spread as much as possible. However, if giving the gift on Sunday is not an option, please understand that NO individual/parent deliveries will be permitted. ONLY deliveries coming from businesses/companies following all COVID regulations will be permitted to enter the building. AGAIN, NO deliveries from individuals will be allowed. We apologize for any inconvenience, but these plans are being put in place due to current COVID regulations. At PES, we are doing our best to provide positive experiences for parents and students while also adhering to the state and county guidelines. Per Mr. Seas and in working with Melissa Baker, transportation supervisor, regarding COVID-19, the need for assigned seats and tracing, the district is eliminating any student bus riders that are not scheduled trips. Examples: 1) Student wants to go home with another student and spend the night. NO. Why? Not a regularly scheduled trip. 2) Student wants to go to Mom's this week and Dad's next week (shared parenting). Usually, there is a court order noting that the student has shared parenting. YES. The trip should be scheduled. 3) Parents have a specific drop-off on Wednesday every (maybe grandparents' house)? Yes, but ONLY if it is consistent and scheduled every week that way and there is a note on file in the elementary office. We will NOT be able to accommodate trips to friends' houses, last minute changes in busing (even with a note), etc., if it is not a regular, weekly plan. Trips should be scheduled and routine.

Good morning!!!! First of all, thank you to all parents for helping yesterday go very smoothly! We had a great day and were so excited to have our kids back here at PES!!! The only hiccup yesterday was the afternoon dismissal with regard to bus arrival times. So, we are making some slight adjustments to dismissal times for today in hopes that it will be better. Please understand that this is tentative as we are still working on bus timing, but this will hopefully decrease the gap of time that we experienced yesterday. Starting today: Announcements and Town Buses/Walkers Dismiss: 2:50 p.m. Pick-ups called to the cafeteria: 2:55 p.m. Pick-ups start dismissing to vehicles: 3:00 p.m. Regular Bus Riders Dismiss: 3:25 p.m. Thanks for your continued help and patience! And, thanks again for helping this year get off to a fantastic start!!!
Parents, if you haven't already filled out your child's forms for the 2020-2021 school year, please take a few moments to do so. Forms are needed for both in person and virtual students. Find the link and login information at https://bit.ly/2EfPMtk
Reminder: Peebles Elementary has a new arrival and dismissal time this year!!! The doors will open for students at 8:30 a.m. They will report to their homerooms for breakfast and the tardy bell will ring at 9:00 a.m. For dismissal, pick-ups will dismiss first. Parents who are picking up need to have their numbers displayed in the window and cannot be lining up any earlier than 2:00 p.m. Pick-ups will start coming out to the cars at approximately 2:40-45 p.m. The early town bus will leave the elementary at approximately 3:05 p.m. and the regular bus riders will dismiss between 3:10-3:15 p.m. Please bear with us, as these are approximate times until we see realistic arrival times for buses. We are excited to have all of our kiddos back here tomorrow!!! Thank you for entrusting us with your most precious gifts!!!!
As you all are aware, masks (not face shields) have been state mandated by the governor of Ohio. This is a requirement for attending school. If your child has no access to masks or family cannot obtain a mask, one will be provided to him/her upon entering the school. If you refuse to comply with this mandate, unfortunately, we have no option but to request that you enroll in our district's Option 2 (Adams Virtual Academy or AVA). If your child has an extenuating medical condition that prohibits him/her from wearing a mask, the doctor's statement indicating the medical reason MUST be provided to the school and reviewed by the Adams County Health Commissioner/Department for approval/validation. Only upon approval/validation, will your child then be excused from the mask mandate. Please keep in mind that by not wearing a mask, your child is considered at risk for airborne pathogens/germs. If you plan to provide medical documentation, please do so prior to the first day of school as there must be time for submission to the Health Department for review and approval. Otherwise, your child will be required to wear the mask until the approval/validation is granted. The first day of school is Wednesday, August 19th.
All forms for students are to be completed online this year. Please use this link if your child is a returning student from last year to update your child's information online. We will not be sending home paper copies of enrollment forms, emergency medical forms, etc. They are all included in this online update. https://cas.ovsd.us/cas_AdamsCntyOH/login If your child is a new enrollee, access the registration gateway via this link: https://www.ovsd.us/o/ovsd/page/district-enrollment--2 ALL parents are asked to fill out a lunch form. On Friday, April 3 all work for the first three weeks is due to be turned in. Please complete all online work by the end of the day Friday and all paper packets must be turned in to the foyer area of the school. In addition, on Friday the 3rd, those families who are doing paper packets or whose teachers have communicated that there will be work available for pick-up, must come to the school foyer area to pick up the packets for the month of April. Pick up and drop off time for packets will be 6 a.m.- 6 p.m. on Friday. The doors will be locked after 6 p.m. Additional drop-off times for April work or pick-up (if you cannot make it this Friday) will be ONLY every Friday from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. 3. Also, in an effort to try to give more students access to online learning, if your family already has internet access and just needs a device, we have a limited number of Chromebooks that can be signed out for use. Devices will only be provided to families who do NOT have a high school student (as they already have a device that can be used in the home) and only one device will be given to each family regardless of the number of school age students there are. The pick-up time for the Chromebooks will be this Friday ONLY, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Mrs. McFarland and Mr. Boerger will be on the sidewalk of the bus parking lot, operating a Chromebook pick-up line so no additional people have to enter the building. Remember, there is a limited number of devices, parents will assume full responsibility for the cost of the device if lost or damaged, and only one device will be given to each family (not each student). If your family has internet and needs a device to access learning, again the ONLY pick-up time will be this Friday, on the sidewalk of the school's bus parking lot from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Good Monday PES! Food pick up this week will be Wednesday at Grace Fellowship Church between 5 and 6 p.m. There will be enough food in each bag to last the children 5 days. Children who are already placed on a weekend program will have their food delivered to them and are NOT to report to pick up. All bags are the same for delivery and pick up. Change in Homework Packets due to 'shelter in place' - Homework packets will be located at the entry doors at PES. You may either pick up or drop off completed packets at your convenience. As always, be safe and communicate any questions using bloomz to your teacher.
All students can visit Grace Fellowship Church to pick up food Wednesday (3/18) and Friday (3/20) from 5 to 6 p.m. Packets will be available at the church if you was unable to pick up today. Completed work can be dropped off at the Greene Beanery in a tub marked PES. The best communication is happening via Bloomz with your teacher. If you have any questions, send those to the teacher and we will compile a Q&A sheet as we learn more about certain situations. Mr. Boerger

Everyone Counts! CENSUS COUNT YEAR 2020!! Young children experience new adventures each day, and little ones need all of the support they can get during their early years. Responding to the 2020 Census is an easy, safe, and important way to help provide resources for children and their communities for the next 10 years. Count children in the home where they live and sleep most of the time, even if their parents don’t live there. Count them at the address where they are living on April 1, 2020. Count newborn babies at the home where they will live and sleep most of the time, even if they are still in the hospital on April 1, 2020. Only the Census Count Personnel see the number of people living in each home. No other agency has access to this information. In fact, all other agencies funding depends on the census too. So, if you have a single family or multiple families living together, don’t worry about counting the number in the household and other agencies finding out. They won’t! Responding to the census is easier than ever. You can complete the census questionnaire online, by phone, or by mail beginning April 1, 2020.
Reminder.. Kindergarten registration is Thursday March 12th for all district attendance areas. Parents get a jump start on your enrollment packet by visiting our Registration Gateway online portal. Click for more details https://tinyurl.com/t3enwbe
