Christmas tree made of Sierpinski triangle

Mrs. Stout's Advanced Topics Math class decided to create a Christmas tree from Sierpenski triangles.

The Sierpinski triangle was discovered by Waclaw Siepenski in 1915. The Sierpinski triangle starts with a single triangle and builds to become a larger, similar triangle. This creates a "tree" of similar triangles. Sierpinski's triangle is also a representation of a fractal, which is a geometric shape that is self-similar across different scales.

This project was a fun way to incorporate mathematics into decorating for Christmas.
