A Special Update in response to recent legislation H.B. 96 regarding limitations on student cell phone usage during the instructional day. To meet the intent of the law, ACOVSD will limit cell phone use (outside of an IEP/504). There will be a no cell phone policy during instruction time, identified by the morning tardy bell until the dismissal bell rings at the end of the day. This includes lunch and transition times. The use of cell phones during an emergency will be outlined in our buildings and district emergency safety plans. Cell phones may be locked in a locker, put away, or by securing them in a device provided by the district.
Thank you for your support as we adjust to this new law of no cell phones during the instructional day.

Please remember, if you do not agree with the law please let your representatives know. The district did not enact the law however, we will follow the law.
