Update on fall sports from the Athletic Director, Katie Ragan: Boys soccer: The boys won the sectional championship Wednesday night over Eastern Brown (6-1). They will play in the District semifinals on Saturday, October 24 @ noon @ home v. South Point. Girls soccer: The girls won the sectional championship Thursday night over Zane Trace (11-0). They will play in the District semifinals on Tuesday, October 27 @ 5:00 @ home v. Ironton St. Joe's. Volleyball: The volleyball sectional championship game will be Saturday, October 24 @ 3:00 @ home v. Portsmouth West. Cross Country: Cross country district competition for boys and girls will be Saturday, October 24 @ Southeastern high school @ 10:00 a.m. Tickets for all tournaments must be purchased online at ohsaa.org/tickets You will need a code to purchase a ticket. Codes were given to athletes to distribute to their family and friends.

Portsmouth West @ 3:00 (This is a change in time by the Southeast district) HS cross country District meet @ Southeastern high school @ 10:00 a.m. Boys soccer - District semi-final (if win on Wednesday) Home v. South Point or Belpre @ 11:00 a.m. Tickets for all tournament games will only be sold online. https://ohsaa.org/tickets In order to purchase a ticket, you must have a code. A few days before each game, codes will be distributed to players. Per OHSAA and state health department policy, you must be a family member or friend of a player or coach in order to attend.

Last week's results from the Athletic Director, Katie Ragan: Monday, October 12 JV / Varsity volleyball @ Northwest - JV lost 1-2, Varsity lost 14-25, 13-25, 22-25 Tuesday, October 13 JV / Varsity volleyball @ Whiteoak JV won 2-1, Varsity won Girls soccer @ Hillsboro - Girls won 2-1 Thursday, October 15 JV / Varsity volleyball @ Ripley - JV won 2-0; Varsity won 25-12, 25-17, 25-15 Varsity won the SHAC 13-0, second gold ball in a row Sierra Kendall got her 2000 career assist Saturday, October 17 HS and JH cross country @ Ripley - HS boys 5th place, Cody Hesler all-SHAC; HS girls 2nd place - Myla Toole SHAC player of the year and all-SHAC, Hunter Grooms all-SHAC; JH boys 2nd place - Beau Hesler and Jayce Rothwell were in the top 10; JH girls 1st place - McKenna Shelton (won the race), Katelynn Boerger, and Anna Armstrong were all in the top 10 We have come to the end of the regular season for fall sports. Now, we are on to the tournament. I want to thank everyone for being so flexible with all the changes due to the COVID rules. I also want to thank everyone for doing your part with sanitizing, wearing a mask, and social distancing. North Adams was able to finish our regular seasons in every fall sport. Most schools had games or meets canceled and were not able to find replacements or make them up. Our teams played all their games. A big thank you to the players, coaches, parents, boosters, and fans for everything you do for our sports teams!

This year, our FFA chapter is selling the following: Assorted nuts, Pineapples, Variety of apples , Variety of oranges, Grapefruits, Pears, Apple Cider, Orange Juice, Lemonade, Barbeque sauce If interested, contact any FFA member or Mr. Newman at john.newman@ovsd.us for any further information. The delivery date is December 3, 2020, this is when we get the fruit at the school and students are to deliver within a day or 2. All money and orders are due by November 12, 2020.

From the Athletic Director, Katie Ragan: The tournament brackets were released for boys soccer, girls soccer, and volleyball. All 3 teams received a first round bye, and will host a sectional final game. The sectional and district brackets are attached. Boys soccer - #4 seed We will host the winner of Eastern Brown and Southeastern on October 21 @ 5:00 for the sectional championship. Girls soccer - #4 seed We will host the winner of Zane Trace and Chesapeake on October 22 @ 5:00 for the sectional championship. Volleyball - #8 seed We will host Portsmouth West on October 24 @ 1:00 for the sectional championship.

Events for the week of October 12 - 17 from the Athletic Director, Katie Ragan: Monday, October 12 JV / Varsity volleyball @ Northwest @ 5:30 Tuesday, October 13 JV / Varsity volleyball @ Whiteoak @ 5:00 Girls soccer @ Hillsboro @ 6:30 Thursday, October 15 JV / Varsity volleyball @ Ripley @ 5:30 Saturday, October 17 HS and JH cross country @ Ripley @ 9:00 a.m. - SHAC meet The tournament brackets for soccer and volleyball will be released on Sunday around 3:30. I will let you know when we will be playing. The boys soccer tournament will start Saturday, October 17th. Spectator rules For volleyball games at Ripley and Whiteoak, the SHAC spectator rules apply (2 vouchers per athlete). I have not received anything about spectator limits at Northwest or Hillsboro. If I get something, I will pass it on. For the SHAC cross country meet, each athlete will be given 4 vouchers next week. You will need a voucher to attend.
