Students must have been enrolled in Kindergarten through sixth grade during the 2023-2024 school year. Discovery Camp will be held for six full days this year on June 11th-13th and June 17th, 18th, and 20th from 9:00-3:00 at West Union Elementary School with students able to attend one camp or both. Discovery Camp is no cost. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided daily and there is no cost for meals. We will be offering shuttle bus service from all three attendance areas. The ACOVSD has collaborated with Adams County Workforce Development we are excited to announce a joint Trade Expo on Thursday, May 9th from 3-6 pm at the Adams County Training and Business Center, located at 107 E. Walnut Street, West Union, OH, formerly the IGA store. At this event, you will learn about the range of jobs and careers available to you and your family in the building trades. Attendees can register to win gift cards for use at local businesses. Many Juniors and Seniors visited during the day and they are welcome to attend the evening session to gather additional information.

Reminder that tomorrow, ACOVSD will be implementing a new cafeteria cashier and payment system. The system is now live and students can be added to your account, if you have already created it. Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of K-6 students, Your student brought home a letter this week about new required curriculum called Erin's Law and the SAVE Students Act. There is an opt out option. Please watch for this letter to come home and note that any opt out forms are due back to the school by January 30, 2024. Please contact your child's school counselor with any questions.

The Adams County Back to School Health Fair will be held on August 12, 2023, from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm at the Adams County Christian School (across the street from Walmart). NEW ADDITION: A sensory-friendly portion of the event will be held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am providing lower lighting and decreased noise/sound designed to create a welcoming environment for families of children with autism or other disabilities that create sensory sensitivities. The event will have health screenings, child immunizations, games, food trucks, giveaways, school supplies, gift cards, parent information classes, and MUCH more! All children and teens from Adams County are invited and welcome to attend.

In subsequent years, the location of the camp will rotate to other elementary buildings in the district. We hope to be able to offer shuttle bussing to West Union Elementary for North Adams and Peebles. We invite the public to attend the question/answer session to get to know the backgrounds and ideas that the candidates might have for our school district.
