Dear families/community members,
As we approach Veterans Day, a day dedicated to honoring and expressing gratitude to our brave veterans, we are initiating a heartfelt project to commemorate their service and sacrifices. To make this tribute even more meaningful, we are requesting picture donations related to Veterans Day from our parents and community members.
We believe that these visual memories will provide a touching and personal touch to our school's Veterans Day celebration. The pictures can depict family members, friends, or any loved ones who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces.
How You Can Contribute:
1. Submit Photos: Please share photographs of veterans in your family or community. These could include pictures of veterans in uniform, during their service, at homecomings, or participating in Veterans Day events. Kindly ensure the photos are of good quality and clearly depict the individuals.
2. Include Brief Descriptions: If possible, include a brief description of the veteran in the photograph, such as their name, rank, branch of service, and any notable achievements or experiences they would like to share.
3. Submission Deadline: We kindly request all picture submissions by October 27. This will allow us enough time to organize and prepare a meaningful display for our Veterans Day event.
4. Delivery Method: Email the pictures along with descriptions to Mrs. Sims at Rachel.sims@ovsd.us . If you have physical copies of the pictures, please contact the office at the school to arrange for collection.
By participating in this project, you are helping us create a touching tribute to honor the incredible men and women who have selflessly served our country. Your contributions will undoubtedly make a significant impact on our Veterans Day celebration.
Thank you in advance for your support and dedication to this meaningful initiative. Together, let us honor our veterans and show our appreciation for their unwavering dedication and sacrifices.
Sincerely,
Peebles Elementary
Mrs. Davis' KDG class highlighted the letter h and our red words then used black light flashlights to make them “glow” so we could find and read them.
