North Adams Elementary welcomes student teachers, as they prepare to become classroom teachers! This week, student teacher, Ms. Weakley created a fun and engaging lesson with some of the students. Ms. Weakley read the book, "How to Catch A Turkey" aloud to the students. After the read aloud the students completed a graphic organizer that Ms. Weakley designed explaining the steps it took to catch a turkey. Finally, the students built a turkey trap to catch the turkey out of marshmallows and toothpicks.

At approximately 2:22 PM, our lockdown alarm inadvertently dropped during dismissal. This was a false alarm, and our District Technology Department is already working to resolve the issue within the system.
We want to reassure our families that THERE IS NO IMMEDIATE THREAT TO CAMPUS.
Our School Resource Officer and administration quickly responded, cleared the building and outside of our campus, and students and staff resumed normal dismissal routines at 2:27 PM.
As always, we are grateful for the quick actions of our staff and students and appreciate your continued support.
