The OVCTC is extremely proud of the Construction Technology Program and their progress on the house build in West Union. This is a tremendous learning experience for these students!

The OVCTC Ag Business class had a great experience showing hogs at the North American in Louisville, Kentucky. Students learned first hand about average daily gain, animal response to feed and supplements, showing techniques, and overall responsibility and care of livestock. We had a great trip and students participated in showmanship, market hog crossbred and purebred divisions, and were able to experience the Louisville Slugger Museum and Tour. We wrapped up the week with some fun bowling and enjoying each other’s company. Thank you to Winchester Ag Service (Spud Gustin) for our bucket feeder donations, Colten Ball (Ball farms and show pigs), Cody Jodrey, Pam McKee, Jenny Fraley and family, our CTC cooks, Greg and Tami Raines, Danyel McClanahan, and the many other parents who helped provide food and encouragement! Additional thanks to Rural King (Maysville, Kentucky) and TSC (West Union) for the wood shavings, and Adams County 4-H Extension for their support!

The OVCTC students have been busy learning the Automotive Technology world and demonstrating what they have learned in the lab! In addition, a couple of guest speakers from the industry have provided our students with important industry information. Doug Bahnsen from Schaefer Oil gave a talk and demonstration on automotive oil and lubricants. The Automotive Technology lab also heard from Donna Wagoner, the ASE Education Foundation Vice President of Accredited Training Programs, gave a presentation on Automotive careers! The students have been very busy; they have all successfully passed their OSHA general industry 10 hour safety program and received their cards and certificates!
