Recently, the juniors in the Early Childhood Education program read the story "The Kissing Hand" by Audrey Penn which shares a story of little raccoon who misses his mommy while at school. Our ECE students discussed separation anxiety with young students and how books such as this can help make the transition from home to school a little smoother. After reading the story ECE students created their own craft to go along with the story. These types of resources are great for early childhood classrooms at the beginning of the year.
