OVCTC FFA forestry team places 4th in the state! Top 5 state winning teams receive a banner. OVCTC is proud to win their second forestry banner ever in the history of the school! Students had to timber cruise, calculate board footage, identify trees by leaves, nuts, and twigs, pace and shoot azimuths in a compass course, and identify wood products and forestry equipment. The team was also first in the district and Isabella Crum, Beau Hesler, and Luke Parks were first, second, and third in the district respectively. Thanks to Hocking College for hosting this event! Juniors in our Early Childhood Education program have recently began their placements in classrooms at Peebles, North Adams and West Union Elementary. They are working with students ranging from ages Preschool-5th grade. While in these classrooms they have the opportunity to connect their course curriculum to real life experiences and learn strategies and methods from experienced teachers in the field of education. Prof Livdall Cookeville, Tennessee.  OVCTC had a good performance in the general livestock contest!  Team of David Raines, Grant McClanahan, Isabella Crum, and MaRhea Unger placed 4th overall in the 4H/FFA division. Beau Hesler placed 2nd overall in sheep and goat, David Raines placed 1st overall in beef. Hannah Hauke also had her first performance in a national level contest and scored an 803.  Beau and David were 6th and 10th high individuals overall respectively in the contest. Great job and way to go Ohio Valley!
