Ohio Valley places 11th in the nation with a gold rating in general livestock evaluation! The team placed 4th overall team in swine and 8th overall team in sheep/goat. David Raines and MaRhea Unger received gold ratings and Grant McClanahan and Isabella Crum received silver ratings. Making history! Thanks to all of those people who have stood behind this team!

Juniors and Seniors in the Early Childhood Education program joined the Halloween fun in our local elementary classrooms across the county. ECE students remained in placement all day to observe the behavior changes occurring in students on party day and learn strategies from elementary teachers of how to be sure learning continues for students even on party days. It was a fun day for all and students enjoyed seeing our ECE students out of uniform and dressing up for Halloween.

Huge thanks to Brian Bailey for an amazing presentation on food and entertainment in the cruise ship industry! Our students were captivated by his insights and experiences. What an incredible opportunity to learn about the exciting world of hospitality on the high seas!

The big day is here! Grant McClanahan, David Raines, MaRhea Unger, and Isabella Crum have all been working hard and putting in countless hours for this very moment! This is the day they represent Ohio in the National FFA Livestock Judging Contest! The late nights, memorizing terminology, time, and overall dedication these four individuals have given to make themselves better is bar none. To date, after hundreds of oral reasons and classes marking cards and preparing, they are prepared to do their best! Parents, school staff, industry partners, stockman, alumni, and Ohio friends: here is a big THANK YOU for your support and investing in this group! The well-wishes, guidance, and compliments have been absorbed by each of them and we know they will do the best that they can. After the contest today, results will be given on Friday, but for now….. GO BUCKS and Ohio Valley FFA!

OVCTC FFA has made it safely to the National FFA Convention! The career expo was full of opportunity for our students through work, college, and networking. Joey Cluxton from Ag Mechanics won a Milwaukee impact/drill set at the Massey Ferguson booth in a skill set race. Kaden Schweitzer from Ag Business won a 1/2” socket set at the Casen IH booth in a similar skill race. Congrats boys on having the best times and performance of the day!

Ag Business students learned to grind feed and mixed their first ration. They will be learning the Pearson Square and applying it to future feed mixes for their livestock! Hay is baled for the season and looking forward to National FFA Convention this week!
