Preschool party ❤️🎉

Today, we want to take a moment to recognize and appreciate our incredible OVSD Safety Department and the dedicated School Resource Officers (SROs) who work tirelessly to keep our schools safe.
Our team of five sworn law enforcement officers, including our Safety Director and four SROs, bring over 120 years of combined experience to our district. Their backgrounds include road patrol, corrections, detective work, juvenile probation, SWAT operations, trauma-informed care, counseling, firearms instruction, and more.
Not only are our officers highly trained—House Bill 318 compliant with their 40-hour SRO certifications—but they are also members of this very community. Many attended the same schools they now serve and protect, with children and even grandchildren walking the same halls.
Over the past year, our SROs have worked as a cohesive team, training in firearms, tactics, and communications alongside other law enforcement agencies. They are skilled in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and responding to the ever-changing safety needs of our district.
More than just officers, they are mentors, role models, and trusted allies to our students and staff. They stand alongside our building and district administrators to ensure that every student can learn in a safe, secure, and supportive environment.
Thank you to our SROs for your dedication, professionalism, and commitment to our schools. We appreciate you today and every day! #SROAppreciation #ThankYouOVSDSafety #KeepingOurSchoolsSafe

Peebles Elementary has had an eventful day! Part of our day included a visit from our local first responders that are essential in the Adams County Handle With Care program!

Students completed 10 assignments with 100 percent accuracy!

Mrs. Applegate's students had a guest speaker during science today. Miss Felicity brought in a weather blanket that she made last year. She completed one row each day. The rows are color coded according to the daily temperatures. She completed a gold row at the end of each month. She explained the process to the students and then challenged them to find their birthday row. It was a weather mapping adventure!
