PES will be conducting bus evacuations after school today, so all bus routes will be running a few minutes behind for dismissal. Please be patient and waiting at the bus stops when the buses arrive. Thank you!!

We have had some complaints regarding exchange of money at school, students soliciting sales to students/staff, etc. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we ask that you please NOT send outside fundraisers to school with your child as it is a violation of this rule in the district's Student Handbook, and we do not want to encounter issues of liability for stolen money, items, etc.
Rule 11: Selling of Items
Students are not permitted to sell, trade, borrow, give or take money or any items, to or from others at school or on the bus. Safety Patrol is the only group permitted to sell items at school. Students will not be permitted to sell items for any organizations/fundraisers at school with the exception of school-sponsored sales.... A student shall not be involved in exchange of any goods/services; there will be no sales/exchange of goods/services for monetary or other tangible/intangible products while on school property.

REMINDER:
We know with the warmer weather students are wanting to wear shorts and lighter clothing. However, according to the ACOVSD Student Handbook, shorts are NOT permitted until April 1st. We ask that students please follow this district guideline. Again, NO shorts are to be worn until April 1st. Thank you!

Kindergarten Registration at Peebles Elementary tomorrow, March 17th from 12-3 p.m. in our library. Please complete Final Forms prior to coming to registration using the link below and bring with you the following: parent's picture ID, proof of residency, child's birth certificate (original), shot record, and custody papers (if applicable). All students who register receive a FREE shirt!

Also, we have an EARLY DISMISSAL this Friday, March 18th for the last day of the nine weeks. Elementary students will dismiss at approximately 2:15 p.m.
Kindergarten Registration Details 2022
Day 1: Thursday, March 17, @12:00 - 3:00 PM OR
Day 2: Thursday, March 31, @ 4:00 - 7:00 PM
Children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 30, 2022, to register for kindergarten
Bring the following documents to registration:
Proof of Residency - documentation of parent/ guardian's address (water bill, telephone bill, etc.)
Child's birth certificate
Shot Record
Custody papers (if applicable)
ALL students who register will receive a free t-shirt!
Each year, we allow parents the opportunity to provide input on their child's needs for the following year. If you have any specific input regarding your child's placement next year, please use this link to complete the form BEFORE April 15th!!!! NO input will be accepted after that date! In addition, please know that you CANNOT request a teacher!!! Any input forms requesting a specific teacher, will be deemed unacceptable/not honored.
NOTE: You must complete a separate form for each child. ONLY complete if you have specific input/concerns to be taken into consideration for NEXT school year. The form is NOT required!!! If the link only allows you to complete the form for one child, you may have to use a different email address to complete one for each additional child.

Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 2:00 A.M. On Saturday night, clocks are set forward one hour (i.e., losing one hour) to “spring forward.”

NOTE: Students in Mrs. Fraley or Mrs. Mathews' fourth grade classes as well as all fifth grade students will be having conferences next week (teachers will be sharing specific dates/times).

Due to a service provider outage, phone service to all district buildings is not working. Our provider is working on the issue and hopes to have the service restored later this morning.
Spring Pictures UPDATE for PES:
Spring picture date has been rescheduled!!!! Spring pictures will now be taken on the morning of Thursday, March 31st. We will share an updated link for purchasing online closer to the date!
Busing Update for March 9th:
Bus 32 students will be riding Bus 70 this afternoon (double routing); therefore, those two routes (students for Bus 32 and 70) may be a little later arriving today for dismissal/drop-off after school. Please be patient.
REMINDER: Parent-teacher conferences will be held at Peebles Elementary School this Thursday, March 10, from 3:45-6:45 p.m. Please be sure you schedule a time with your child's teacher in advance! Thank you!!!

Please take the time to complete these documents and the necessary uploads (you will see those as you make your way through the forms/questions) PRIOR to attending the Kindergarten Registration.

Join Peebles Elementary for Spring Family/Parent Night on Thursday, March 3rd from 4:30-5:30 p.m. We will be focusing on educational and fun reading activities. Students can visit their grade level's booth and the Humphrey booth to earn tickets for prize drawings! We hope to see everyone there!!!

We have a great deal of fun going on at PES this week for Right to Read/Dr. Seuss Week!!!! We are also wrapping up our final chapters of The World According to Humphrey! Below are some important reminders:
Monday, February 28: Read Chapter 13 of The World According to Humphrey
Tuesday, March 1: Wear Crazy Socks (Fox in Socks Day) and read Chapter 14 of Humphrey
Wednesday, March 2: Dress in a "wacky" way for Wacky Wednesday (such as crazy hair, mismatched clothes, etc.)
Thursday, March 3: Put a Wocket in your pocket OR wear green (Green Eggs and Ham), Family Literacy Night (in the cafeteria from 4:30-5:30 p.m.), and read Chapter 15, the final chapter of The World According to Humphrey
