Good evening Junior High parents and guardians, This is a reminder that our extended field trip to Kings Island is tomorrow, Monday, May 18th. We will depart from the high school promptly at 8:00 a.m. and return to the high school at approximately 7:30 p.m. Please make arrangements to pick up your child no later than 7:30 p.m. Tomorrow is expected to be very hot, so please make sure your child dresses appropriately for warm temperatures. Tank tops will be permitted for this trip due to the heat. Students are encouraged to bring a plastic water bottle that is allowed inside the park. They will also be able to request complimentary cups of water at most food locations throughout the day. Students will receive their admission ticket and one food voucher tomorrow morning before departure. Since students will only have one meal voucher for the day, we will encourage them to wait and use it around 1:00 p.m. so it will help hold them over until returning home in the evening. As students enter the park, they will also be able to choose one snack item to place in their backpack, including a granola bar, Little Debbie snack cake, or a small bag of chips. Please note that Kings Island is a cashless theme park. If students would like to purchase additional food, drinks, or souvenirs throughout the day, they will need to bring a debit or credit card. Guests with cash may convert their cash into a prepaid Visa debit card at kiosks located throughout the park. Students are permitted to bring a backpack and their cell phone. They will travel in small groups supervised by a teacher throughout the day. Mrs. Kremin’s phone number will be provided to students in case they need to contact an adult while at the park. If there is an emergency and you are unable to reach your child directly, please contact the school office and staff will communicate with one of the teachers at the park. Please note: students will not be permitted to walk home upon our return unless a signed note has been turned in to the office before departure tomorrow morning. We are looking forward to a fun and memorable day with our students!

As we head into the final 6 days of school, every day truly matters!

These last few days are important for celebrating accomplishments, completing end-of-year activities, and helping students feel confident and ready for next year.

You may hear the term “chronic absenteeism.” This means a student has missed about 18 days (or 108 hours) of school over the year—whether those absences are excused or unexcused. This is something that is tracked by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce because regular attendance plays a big role in student success.

Even missing a day or two right now can make a difference—especially for students who are close to that threshold.

We need your help to finish strong!
Let’s work together to make sure students are:
✔️ Present
✔️ Engaged
✔️ Ready to finish the year proud

Remember our motto: Strive for 5—Every Day Counts!

Thank you for your continued support and partnership—together, we can make attendance a priority!

Every day. Every hour. Every student. Every school day counts!
