Reminder for Parents of Incoming 7th and 12th Grade Students: Required immunization records or a signed exemption form must be on file with the school by September 21, 2026. Students who do not have the required documentation on file by this date will be excluded from school until it is received. Any absences during this time will be unexcused.

Drug Free Clubs of America is BACK for the 2026–2027 school year!
Adams County Ohio Valley School District is excited to once again offer Drug Free Clubs of America (DFCA) to students in grades 9–12 at North Adams High School, Peebles High School, West Union High School, and the Ohio Valley Career & Technical Center.
DFCA gives students an opportunity to make a positive commitment to living drug-free — while being recognized and rewarded for that choice.
⭐️ Why join DFCA?
Members can receive building-specific incentives and rewards throughout the school year, along with access to participating DFCA Member Rewards. These rewards are designed to recognize students for making healthy, drug-free choices.
DFCA is a voluntary program that uses confidential random drug testing as a way for students to demonstrate their commitment to remaining drug-free. Just as importantly, membership gives students a built-in reason to say “no” when faced with peer pressure.

The student membership fee is $20 for the school year.

We also know that there are times when mental health or behavioral health needs can become a barrier to regular attendance. Connecting students with the right support—without requiring them to miss additional school—is one way we can work together to reduce chronic absenteeism.
Through ACOVSD’s partnership with R.E.A.C.H. for Tomorrow, students can access services right at school, during the school day.
Services include:
• Mental health therapy
• Case management
• Substance abuse treatment and support, including vape groups
Providing services at school means less time out of class, fewer disruptions to the school day, and greater access to support when students need it.
Our goal is simple: remove barriers, reduce absences, and help students stay present, engaged, and ready to learn.

The Boys Soccer team got their first win of the season last night at Felicity winning by a score of 3 to 1 on the night. We had a few more firsts of the season with Freshman Chase Fossyl getting his first high school goal, Freshman KJ McCLary getting his first high school assist as well as Junior Cole Elliott getting his first high school assist as well.
The boys are back in action Monday at Portsmouth Clay and have their home opener on Wednesday at Ripley for their first league game of the season.

Yesterday the Varisty and JV Boys Golf Team competed against the Whiteoak Wildcats at Hillsboro Elks. The Indians won by a score of 173 to 199. The low medalist were Cooper Meade and Josh McClary with rounds of 40 each.
Tonight the Indians were in action again at their home course against Fayetteville, with the Indians again winning by a score of 153 to 196. Gage Bennington was the medalist with a low round of 35.

📅 Religious Expression Days & Holiday Calendar Guidance
As required by Ohio law (Ohio Revised Code 3320.04), Adams County/Ohio Valley School District is providing families with information regarding Religious Expression Days and the District’s non-exhaustive religious holiday calendar for the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 school years.
Families should know:
• Students may receive up to 3 excused religious expression days each school year.
• Parents/guardians must provide written notice within the required 14-school-day timeframe.
• Reasonable academic accommodations will be provided when an excused religious expression day conflicts with an assessment or major academic requirement.
• Students remain eligible to participate in athletics and extracurricular activities on an excused religious expression day.
The District’s calendar is not an exhaustive list of religious holidays and observances.
