Attendance Matters – being in school every day makes a big difference. Missing just 2 days a month adds up—and by state definition, a student may be considered chronically absent.
✅ If your child must be absent, please remember to send in a parent note or doctor’s note so the absence can be excused.
✅ The Ohio Department of Education’s goal for the 25–26 school year is to reduce chronic absenteeism to 14.5% or less.

Showing up matters — every single day! Did you know that regular school attendance is one of the biggest predictors of student success? When students are in school, they are learning, building relationships, and preparing for a bright future. 🌟
This year, each school in the Adams County Ohio Valley School District has an Attendance Banner proudly displayed to remind us of our goal:

A special shout-out to the talented students in the WUHS FORGE Lab who designed and created these banners for our schools! 🙌 Their work is helping spread the important message that attendance matters.

Breakout sessions today in Ms. Daniels' class. Students are answering questions with clues, then finding things in the room to open locks.

Info for seniors:
Tuesday, Sept. 2nd,7:30 AM-11:30 AM - Senior pictures. This picture is a headshot that will be used in the yearbook and for the senior composite, please dress nicely. The photographer will be here from 7:30 AM-11:30 AM to take pictures, please make sure you're here within that time frame.
* CTC students- Your pictures will be taken at 7:15 so you can get to the CTC for class. The bus will wait for students to finish taking pictures before leaving the high school. If you drive to the CTC, please go straight to the CTC after pictures. The CTC knows that PHS seniors will arrive late on 9/2, due to pictures.
- Friday, Oct. 17th, 12:00 in the round room- Senior meeting with Herff Jones. Herff Jones will be here to discuss senior graduation supplies (caps/gowns, invitations, etc.) and order and pickup dates.
* CTC students- Herff Jones will meet with you at the CTC, you do not have to come to PHS for this meeting. Herff Jones will meet with you the morning of 10/17 at the CTC.
