Good evening. This is Amanda Blanton, West Union Elementary assistant principal calling with some important information. As you are aware the current forecast for this Thursday and Friday calls for ice and snow. While no decision has been made regarding school, we are closely monitoring the forecast. On Wednesday we will be sending home packets or devices for virtual learning in preparation for the anticipated weather. Our hope is that we do not need to access this virtual and home learning packets option, however, we do want our students to be prepared in case we must close.
If school is only canceled on Thursday students will not need to access their virtual classroom or work on their paper packets, however, if school closures move into Friday and beyond students will need to complete the assignments we are sending home.
We do understand that internet connectivity may be an issue in some situations and are prepared to work through those situations individually with those families.
Again I wish to reiterate that no decision has been made regarding school closures at this time. If you have any questions, please contact us.
