On the week of April 12th, West Union Elementary will be conducting virtual family nights. If you would like to participate, please complete the Google Form on the link below or contact your child's teacher to request a packet. Each family that participates will receive a packet that contains STEM activities for your family to do at home. Our goal is for you to have fun while learning as a family. We do not expect you to try to do all of the activities. We provided a variety of Science and Math activities that span different grade levels. To guarantee a packet for your family, please complete the form or contact your child's teacher by Friday, March 12th.

Kaylynn Foster loves animals, and she loves helping others. When Foster suggested that her school hold a Penny Drive to help homeless pets in her community, everyone jumped on board. During January and February Kaylynn and her schoolmates, teachers, and school staff collected money in the form of paper bills, quarters, nickels, dimes, and, of course, pennies. Lots and lots of pennies. The 5-gallon bucket holding the change weighed a little over ninety-nine pounds when it was presented to Rachael Hamilton, an employee of the Humane Society of Adams County animal shelter, on Friday, February 21, 2021. The money is being counted by animal shelter volunteer William Huxmann, a 4th grader who lives in West Union. Once the sorting and counting is complete, the change will be deposited in the animal shelter account at The National Bank of Adams County. The funds will be used by the animal shelter to help rescue and care for dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, horses, rabbits, cattle, and other animals in need.
