
Tonight WUHS recognized Leena Blanton and Scotlyn Adams who were 2022 Girls State Wrestling qualifiers. Congratulations girls.


The Adams County Ohio Valley School District will be closed today, Tuesday, January 31, 2023, due to poor conditions.

Tuesday January 31st will be senior night for all WUHS athletes and pep band members. We will recognize seniors between the jv and varsity basketball games at approx 7 pm. Varsity coaches will be passing out flowers. If you would like to attend please return the Senior questionnaire to Mr. Little by January 25th [it was emailed to seniors on January 7th]. Seniors will need to be here by 6:30 pm that night. We will line up parents and seniors in the band room during the 4th quarter of the jv game. There will be tables set up for display boards, please keep them reasonable size.


Tonight was military appreciation night at WUHS. WUHS wants to thank all active duty service mem and women and veterans for their service.



Friday January 27th will be military appreciation night at WUHS. All active duty and veterans will get in free to watch the Dragons take on the Whiteoak Wildcats.

The SHAC Junior High Tournament brackets are out. Only the top 8 teams make the tournament.
The 7th grade boys will play Lynchburg at Lynchburg Middle school on Saturday January 28th at 10:15 am. The bus will leave at 8:15 am.
The 7th grade girls will play Fayetteville at Fayetteville Middle School on 10:15 am on Saturday January 28th. The 8th grade girls will play Fairfield at Fayetteville High school at 12:45 am on Saturday January 28th. The bus will leave at 8:30 am.

The Adams County Ohio Valley Local School District has been selected by the Ohio Department of Education, Office for Exceptional Children (OEC), for a review of its special education program.
OEC is asking parents, guardians, and other members of the public to submit general comments or concerns regarding the special education program and services provided by Adams County Ohio Valley Local School District.

The Adams County Ohio Valley School District will hold its regular board meeting this evening, Monday January 23, 2023, at the OVCTC beginning at 6 pm. The meeting will be streamed on the District’s YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/@acovsd/live

Junior attendant was Leena Blanton escorted by Nate Fooce
Senior attendants were Jacie Swayne and Colby Harover, Tyra Prickett and Isaiah Howelett, and Maisy Yeager and Tanner Adkins.
2022 Queen Madison Taylor was in attendance to crown this year’s Queen was Makenna Armstrong and King was Josh Chitwood.

On Tuesday January 17th WUHS was honored to have all the WU Pee Wee basketball players, cheerleaders, and coaches in attendance at the MHS vs WU boys basketball game. The gym was packed to cheer on the current and future Dragons. WUHS would like to thank all the coaches that work with our youth and all the hard work that they put in week after week. WUHS would especially like to thank Vicki Mason, Silas Mills, and Jai Vogler for all the work they do with the Pee Wee Program. A special thanks to Kevin Cooper for announcing all the teams.

WUHS would like to invite all the pee wee teams to join us on Pee Wee night which is January 17th vs Manchester. The Pee Wee cheerleaders that participated in cheer camp will be performing during halftime and we will be announcing all the Pee Wee basketball teams in between the JV and Varsity boys games (approx. 6:45).


Congratulations to the Varsity Boys team. They defeated Portsmouth Clay today at the Coach Young Classic 54-51 for their first win of the season. Great job Dragons!!!
