From the ACOV Transportation: Due to a lack of Sub Drivers, we will not be able to provide transportation AM or PM for Bus #49, Jr. Adkins, for Tuesday, November 8, Wednesday, November 9, and Thursday, November 10, 2022.

WUHS Green and White Night Please join us on Thursday November 10th to help us kick off the winter season. Spirit wear will be on sale all during the night. T-shirts for $13, Long sleeve t-shirts $20, Hoodies $25. Don’t worry about cooking as the WUHS Athletic Booster will have concessions available for purchase. At 6 pm the winter OHSAA Parent meeting will be held in the round room. Parents are required to attend one of these meeting per year. At 7 pm everyone will assemble in the gym to meet all the teams and kick off the winter season. We hope to see you there.

WUHS CCP NIGHT is Wednesday November 30th at 6 pm in the round room. Representatives from SSCC and Shawnee State University will be here to discuss all aspects of the program and how it pertains to their institution. Any student grades 7-11 that would like to participate in the CCP (College Credit Plus ) program for the 2023-24 school year MUST attend this meeting with at least one parent/guardian.

ATTENTION SENIORS Financial aid night will be Wednesday November 16th at 6 pm in the round room. Representatives for SSCC’s Financial Aid office will be here to give a presentation on completing the FAFSA and answering your questions you and your family have pertaining to financial aid for college.

The Adams County Ohio Valley School District will hold its regular board meeting this evening, Monday, October 24, 2022, at the OVCTC beginning at 6 pm. The meeting will be streamed on the District’s YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/@acovsd/live

Congratulations to the high school girls cross country team. They were runner up at the District meet and qualified for the Regional meet next Saturday. Team members include Makenna Armstrong, Sadie Armstrong, Miley Smith, Allie McCarty, Sara Boldman, Emma Crawford, and Kaitlyn Vogler. They are coached by Donnie McCarty, Megan McCarty, Tess Holloway, and Josh White.

Red Ribbon week is next week. Students are encouraged to participate.

There are a couple of things that are coming up that we want to bring to your attention: 1. The end of the First Nine Weeks is tomorrow, Thursday, October 20, 2022. 2. 1 Hour Early Dismissal is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, Thursday, October 20, 2022. Buses will be released at 12:48 PM and Car Riders will be dismissed at 12:53 PM. 3. Picture Retakes are Friday, October 21, 2022. Return your picture packets in order for the picture to be retaken.

Congratulations to the Junior High Girls Cross Country for winning the SHAC meet. Earning a medal today was 3rd place: Stella Rhonemus 4th place: Lydia Armstrong 5th place: Ella Shupert 10th place: Violet Randolph The HS Girls finished in 2nd place in SHAC meet. Earning all SHAC was 8th place: Sadie Armstrong 11th place Makenna Armstrong The JH Boys finished in 3rd place at the SHAC meet. Braylon Scarbrough finished in 1st place

Congratulations to the boys soccer team. They defeated Ripley tonight 3-1 and pick up the 4th win of the season.

If you know a veteran or current service member, please share the following information with them regarding the upcoming Veterans Day Programs at West Union High School and West Union Elementary School.

On October 9th the Southeast District Athletic Board released the sectional pairs for soccer and Volleyball. Tickets for these contests must be purchased online at https://www.ohsaa.org/tickets. The Boys Soccer team will play at Rock Hill on Tuesday October 18th at 6 pm. The Volleyball team will play at home vs Dawson Bryant on Tuesday October 18th at 6 pm. The Girls Soccer team will play at North Adams at 5pm on October 19th. The District Cross Country Meet will be held at Rio Grande University on October 22nd. The girls will run at 2 pm and the boys at 3 pm.
