The OVCTC Early Childhood Education program "Junior Educators" had a great time hanging out with superheroes today. They painted, read books and colored pictures. This program is such a great way to develop foundational leadership skills for our 6th graders and our Juniors and Seniors from the ECE program.

Our OVCTC Juniors and Seniors are looking forward to attending the upcoming Career Fair (sponsored by Ohio Means Jobs) at the fairgrounds on March 26th. We encourage any recent graduates to come to the OMJ Career Fair!

Thank you to our community volunteers who participated in HCT Phlebotomy Saturday. The event was a huge success and the students got needed practice on "live sticks" prior to the upcoming state exam!

The Ohio Valley CTC would like to congratulate our second year members and the newest inductees to our chapter of the National Technical Honor Society for the 2023-24 school year!

The OVCTC Precision Machining Program received a generous donation this week from DMG Mori and Mr. Steven Baucom. The program received approximately $100,000 in tooling resources, Insert End Mills, Face Mills, boring bars, lathe turning tools, lathe threading tools, drills, etc… Mr. Baucom completed the precision machining program and is one of Mr. Cooper’s former students. Thank you to Mr. Baucom and DMG Mori for this tremendous donation and serving as a business and industry partner for the Ohio Valley CTC!

The Ohio Valley CTC will host Parent Teacher Conferences from 3 to 6 PM on Tuesday, January 23rd.

Last week, the students in Mr. White's Ag Mechanics lab were hard at work on a variety of shop projects!

The OVCTC Arizona Judging team had a good performance at the Arizona Nationals in Phoenix. We were not the high team of the day, but we do know that over 320 contestants and 100 teams across the nation competed in the livestock judging event and that we were in the upper percentile. Each student put up good scores in both evaluating and talking oral reasons. Team members evaluated high quality livestock and enjoyed hiking and seeing the sights around or near Phoenix. Many of the students saw the Grand Canyon for the very first time, and the entire trip was one for the record books. Each student will have memories to last a lifetime! A special thank you to each and every individual and business who helped make this possible!

The OVCTC Information Systems Technology program listened to a presentation from Chief Todd May of the AFRS Fire Department Emergency Drone Response Team. The AFRS coordinates state and federal response to emergencies. IST students with the proper coding skills can program drones and potentially work for this type of agency!

The OVCTC was proud to welcome back Mr. Dallas Wilkinson, a 2023 completer of the Automotive Technology Program at the CTC and a Peebles HS graduate. Many thanks for your service to our country as a Marine - you are someone our students and staff admire!

The OVCTC Construction Technology Program has partnered with the Children's Home to construct sturdy / durable bed frames that can be used by building residents! We appreciate our students doing this community service project for the Wilson Children's Home!
