🔨 OVCTC Construction Tech Showcases Skills to Carpenters Union 🔨
The Construction Tech class had the opportunity to showcase their hard work to Zach Durham and Chris Gullett, representatives of the Carpenters Union. Through this partnership, students gain valuable experience, earn a year of apprenticeship hours, obtain industry credentials for graduation, and complete work-based learning hours.

Great night for the Ohio Valley FFA at sub district Public Speaking. Congrats to Bella Crum for placing first in the Extemporaneous division with Colt Johnson following just behind in second. These two have earned a chance to move on to District contest next Tuesday Evening. Pioneer Pride !

With all the snow this year, the snow equipment put in overtime. the Welding program stepped up to repair a broken snow blade for the district. Huge thanks to Ethan for his hard work and skills in getting it back in action! Here’s to a fixed snow blade and (hopefully) no more snow!
February 3rd starts Skills USA week!
Ag business students who scored highest in the maneuverability and operations with the skid steer were able to make a short trip to another industry partner, Ricer Equipment. Special thanks to Keith Eichenlaub for organizing our time there and for allowing us to tour the facility and learn about industry. Students were able to analyze and operate a Kubota track loader, tour the facility and learn about career opportunities within this family owned and operated business. A bonus for the day was exploring their wide variety of Tiger Cat forestry equipment. Thank you Ricer Equipment and staff!

Huge shoutout to Mr. White and his Ag Mechanics students for stepping up and repairing the water line to the FFA greenhouse today! Despite the muddy and wet conditions, they showcased their skills by tackling the project and expertly operating our mini excavator. Incredible work, everyone!”
A huge shoutout to Kyle Gorgan with CAT for taking the time to visit our Ag Mechanics students and walking them through all the incredible features of our new mini excavator! Our students not only got hands-on experience operating the equipment but also put their skills to work by helping with snow removal. We appreciate the partnership and the opportunity to learn from the best in the industry!

Special thanks to Biff Evans for working with us on our fertilizer and spraying needs here at the school farm. We appreciate the hats provided to our students today! Former graduate of the Ag Business program, Ryan Dotson, manages the Mowrystown location.
Thanks to the Technicians and Service dept from AG Pro in Georgetown for pushing our students to train for the upcoming AG Power Diagnostics CDE in a few weeks.

The Adams County Ohio Valley School District will be closed on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. We delayed earlier today; however, after closely monitoring the weather a decision was made to close tomorrow for student safety. If able, students will complete work virtually as an online learning day.
