What made the day truly special was watching our CTC students shine. They didn’t just host the event they led, organized, and guided each activity with the help of our amazing staff. Their creativity, leadership, and teamwork continue to show just how incredible our Pioneers are, both in their labs and out in the community.
We love sharing these experiences with our community in fun, festive, and meaningful ways.
We’re excited to welcome Peebles Elementary and North Adams Elementary for round two of Christmas magic at the CTC!

Students in Mrs. Edmisten’s Language Arts class participated in the Young Writers USA creative writing contest, “Fright Night.” Each student had to craft a scary story in 100 words or less, putting their creativity, precision, and academic skills to the test.
We’re proud to announce that the students pictured were selected to be published in Fright Club – The Haunted Pages Anthology!

Once we were informed by authorities that the situation had been resolved, we promptly returned to normal school operations.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to local law enforcement for their timely communication and continued partnership in keeping our students and staff safe.

📣 New State Attendance Rules – What Families Need to Know
👨👩👧👦 Adams County Ohio Valley Schools
Ohio has updated how student attendance is tracked statewide with HB 96. Here’s what families need to know ⬇️
📊 What’s Changing?
Ohio now includes all absences (excused & unexcused) when identifying students who are chronically absent.
➡️ Chronic absenteeism = 10% of missed school days (about 2+ days per month)
➡️ Even excused absences count
🚨 Truancy Rules (Unexcused Absences Only – these laws remain the same)
⚠️ 30+ hours unexcused (consecutive)
⚠️ 42+ hours unexcused in one month
⚠️ 72+ hours unexcused in a year
📌 What Families Must Do
✔️ Call the school within 1 hour of the start of the school day
✔️ Send written documentation (note, email, doctor slip) when your child returns
