Our junior Teaching Professions student Jo Tester had a blast assisting Mrs. Rothwell’s 4th graders in making slime! Not only was it a hands-on gooey good time, but it was also the perfect way to review measurements in 4th grade math. From mixing ingredients to measuring precise amounts; the students had so much fun while reinforcing important math concepts. A big thank you for Mrs. Rothwell and West Union Elementary for providing our Teaching Professions students these fun and memorable learning experiences.
Think this looks fun? Consider joining our Teaching Professions program and get hands on experience like this!

Congratulations to OVCTC FFA for winning the Adams County Cattleman’s FFA grill off! Senior: Christian Gerth and juniors: Michael Malott and Cole Manning were the trio who worked together to bring home the win! Thank you to the Adams County Cattleman’s and the individuals involved to help make this such an enjoyable experience. OVCTC Ag Business students Trenton Quackenbush and Cole Hudson demonstrated their SAE project to the class today. The old “trusty but rusty” John Deere 6300 that was purchased in 1999 got a new face lift started today. Trent and Cole polished, corrected paint, and then ceramic coated an area for students to see the difference in how paint can be restored. Local entrepreneurs in the community! We will post an after photo also so everyone can see the finished product when completed.

Mr. Crump’s classes have been studying the Cold War. What better way to learn than from a primary source? Mr. Tom Putnam came into his classes to give his story, when stationed in Berlin during the height of the Cold War! He shared his first hand experience, living behind the Iron Curtain, while also showing artifacts that he obtained from living in West Berlin! Thank you Mr. Putnam for sharing with our students and your service!

Ag Business Seniors finished their electric circuit board projects and did a super job! Very few breakers tripped this year! The students had the privilege of hearing from CTC alumni and huge supporter, Mr. Brian Kitchen from Kitchen electric. Special thanks to West Union Electric and Plumbing and Mr. Mark Wickerham for donating our supplies for this project that keeps us going. Mark helped us get what we needed to start this project and we are fortunate to reuse most of the items for years to come! Ag Business juniors also helped with some quick work setting an electric pole that had broken off earlier this year. They prepared the site, anchored the pole, set the post, and have helped make big steps to now have our greenhouse supplied with electric again!

Part 2: Day 3 of Our Ag. Mechanics & Ag. Business students working on their operating skills while fixing the landscape at North Adams High School. Today they finished the grading, seeded and spread straw.
