This young lady worked very hard following our Indian Chief motto! She filled two Indian Chief punch cards, earning a special prize.

Yesterday, Mrs. Jonelle Arnold, one of our very own, was recognized as Peebles Elementary’s Teacher of the Year, a new tradition we are thrilled to start with our partnership with Brown County ESC. Speaking personally, I have had the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Arnold for the past four years of my educational career. Fun fact: she enjoys recognition just as much as I do! In fact, we even joked on stage about not falling or passing out under the spotlight, which is very much in line with our shared sense of humor. In the short time I’ve known her—though we also joked about how long she’s been teaching, and I know better than to stick my foot in my mouth—she has been steadfast in seeking out the excitement of students’ “ah-ha” moments. Her leadership, often unbeknownst to her, has created a trickle-down effect for new teachers and a trickle-up effect for new administrators. I am proud to call her not only an exemplary employee but also a wonderful model, colleague, and mentor to all new personnel. She is truly deserving of this honor, even if she thinks otherwise. Well done, Jonelle. We love you and are proud to have you as a teammate.

Our students may have had a day off, but our 4–6 staff were all hands on deck, collaborating to stay vertically aligned and making sure we continue giving students the support they deserve! While grades 4–6 were aligning standards, our K–3 team was hard at work deepening their literacy instruction.

Thank you to Peebles Methodist Church for the amazing apple bar during parent-teacher conferences! Your kindness and support mean so much to our staff. 🍎

A heartfelt thank-you to our wonderful community for bringing in soup, salad, and sandwiches for staff last week. Your thoughtful gestures brought comfort and warmth as we mourned our colleague.❤️

Our students are mastering geometry basics — identifying and drawing rays, points, lines, and angles like pros! 📐

The Peebles Elementary Choir visited the Veteran's Home in Georgetown October 7th to share music with the residents. They enjoyed singing for the veterans and the veterans enjoyed hearing them and receiving thank you notes from PES students.

🌿 Nature came to life in Mrs. Beech’s class! Our young scientists used treasures from their nature walks to create amazing nature creatures—each one totally unique and full of imagination! 🐞🍂

Peebles Elementary Families!
Ohio has recently updated its attendance policy with House Bill 96. Every absence matters — excused or unexcused — and our goal is to reduce chronic absenteeism.
We’ll be posting weekly grade-level attendance percentages so students can celebrate their progress and keep striving for success!
Congratulations to our 6th grade for leading the way to the highest attendance rate for this current week!
Every day at school is a day to learn, grow, and shine
Let’s keep showing up and showing what Peebles Indians can do!
