Reminder for parents of current AVA students:
The first semester ends on January 12, and the first day of the third nine weeks begins on Jan. 13. If your child(ren) are going to be returning to PES, you (parent/guardians) will need to contact the school and let the front office know you are choosing to return to the physical setting and will no longer be participating in the AVA option after Jan. 12. AVA students may begin attending classes on Jan. 13 (the first day of 3rd nine weeks), as long as the school is aware they are returning, and they have been assigned to a class schedule.
Since students are already enrolled with ACOV, parents should not have to re-enroll or complete additional registration unless important information is missing.

The Adams County Ohio Valley School Board will meet in regular session this evening at 5pm. You may watch it live on our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhTtk9rwcRQ

Reminder: Food Distribution at Grace Fellowship Church in Peebles will be this evening, Wednesday, December 16th at 5 p.m.

Upon review of the Adams County School/Community, staffing needs, student needs, and discussions with Dr. Hablitzel, the Adams County Ohio Valley School District will resume in-person school on Thursday, December 10th. We welcome our students back!

REMINDER:
Please be sure students are turning in their work for academic classes weekly!!! If your child is completing online, these will be submitted electronically each week on the grade level's assigned due date. If your child is completing paper packets, please ensure that you drop off work weekly in the front lobby of the school. There are labeled areas for each grade level as well as specials (music, art, PE, and technology). Drop-off and pick-up is available 24/7 in the lobby/foyer area of PES.
NOTE: All specials (music, art, PE, and technology) is due by December 11th.
Please be aware that if work is not turned in by due dates established by the grade levels, the work will be considered "late" or may not be accepted if not turned in within a timely manner. Any work not completed/turned in, will be assessed as a "zero" in the student's Progress Book records.
We appreciate your help with this, and look forward to seeing the students back here on Thursday, December 10th!!

Due to poor road conditions, mainly on our side roads, the Adams County Ohio Valley School District will be closed today, December 1st, 2020. Staff does not report and there will be no virtual classes today.

PES will be offering a meal bag per student. If your child(ren) attends PES or PHS, and you would like to receive meals (provided for each scheduled day of school), we will be offering a contactless pick-up on Wednesday, November 18th from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. You must drive through our circular front driveway, wear a mask, and remain in your vehicle; through the window of your vehicle, a school staff member will provide you with a bag for each school-aged child. This is available to all school-age children in the Peebles attendance area regardless of income/need.

Please take a moment to read this important message from Dr. William Hablitzel, MD, Adams County Health Commissioner. https://www.facebook.com/AdamsCountyHealthDepartmentOhio/posts/4905431459496802

Parents/Guardians of students who attend PES:
Today, your child will be coming home with materials for remote learning. We will be on a remote learning plan until December 10th. One of the items that each student will have access to is a school chromebook. Please take a moment to complete this short form providing your child(ren) permission/acceptance to bring this school chromebook home. We ask that you complete it even if you do NOT want your child to have a chromebook.
Please click this link to complete the form (even if you do not want your child to have a device): https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSflkxxvil5_WASbXNYbevbjKzrOgAvKNVt8znJKCQZ9OeY38A/viewform?vc=0&c=0&w=1&flr=0&gxids=7628
If you have opted NOT to accept the parent responsibility/liability for a school device or simply choose not to complete the form and your child brings home a device, you will need to return the device to the school by Wednesday, November 18th. The front office will be open from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Thank you for your cooperation as we transition into this next phase of your child's education!!

As many of you may already know, starting on Monday, November 16th, Peebles Elementary and all other ACOVSD schools will be going to virtual/remote learning until December 9th. We will return to school on Thursday, December 10th.
PLEASE be sure your child attends school tomorrow, Friday, November 13th if at all possible!!! He/she will be sent home with textbooks, a chromebook and other necessary supplies for the next few weeks' virtual learning assignments, virtual lessons, assessments, etc.

Unfortunately, due to the current regulations and health precautions surrounding us, we are unable to host our annual Veterans Day assembly. In lieu of our assembly, on Tuesday, November 10, we are going to host an outdoor, drive-thru parade for Veterans Day. For any veteran or veteran's family who would like to participate, the parade will start in the Peebles High School parking lot/drive at 1:15 p.m. Then, the veterans and families can proceed through the circular parking lot at Peebles Elementary School. Cars will simply drive through the lots while students and staff line the sidewalks wearing red, white and blue and chanting and displaying posters/fliers. We would love to have all our local veterans drive through so our high school and elementary students can show their appreciation!
