Special thanks to the anonymous donors who donated several cases of bottled water for our students. We are so blessed to have a community that supports our students.

West Union Elementary is asking for support as they collect money through a penny drive for the Adams County Humane Society. The drive will begin on Monday, January 25th and run through Friday, January 29th.

Reminder: There will be no school tomorrow, Monday January 18th in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Grade cards will be sent home with students on Tuesday the 19th. Have a great evening!

Congratulations to our Spelling Bee Winners! 1st Place-Brandi Chambers, 2nd Place-Connor McDaniel, 3rd Place-Rylee Ferrell and 4th Place-Evan Thompson. These students will advance to the District Spelling Bee which will be held at North Adams Elementary on February 4th at 6:30.

Reminders: Tomorrow Tuesday January 12th, there will be an early dismissal. School will dismiss at 2:05 for pick-ups and approximately 2:30 for bus riders. Our spelling bee for grades 4-6 will be on Friday at 9:15 a.m. For those who wish to watch, the spelling bee will be streamed live on Facebook. On Monday January 18th, there will be no school in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. On Tuesday, January 19th, grade cards for the second nine weeks will be sent home with students.

Kindergarten Screening 2021.

The Adams County Ohio Valley School District Board of Education will hold a Special Board Meeting - Organizational Meeting to be held on Thursday, January 7, 2020@ 5:00pm. This meeting will be held Virtually. If anyone has any questions concerning the 2021 Tax Budget Hearing which will take place at this meeting, they are invited to email Mr. Switzer directly at brian.switzer@ovsd.us. Santa will be visiting West Union Elementary tonight from 5:30 - 8:30. There is no cost and we will follow social distancing guidelines.

Upcoming activities at West Union Elementary.

Upon review of the Adams County School/Community, staffing needs, student needs, and discussions with Dr. Hablitzel, the Adams County Ohio Valley School District will resume in-person school on Thursday, December 10th. We welcome our students back!

Reminder, the student meal distribution for this week has been moved to tomorrow, Thursday, December 3rd from 12-2 p.m.

Due to poor road conditions, mainly on our side roads, the Adams County Ohio Valley School District will be closed today, December 1st, 2020. Staff does not report and there will be no virtual classes today.

Virtual Learning FAQ

Here are the distribution dates and times for school lunch pick ups... Wednesday, November 18 - 12:00pm-2:00pm Tuesday, November 24 - 12:00pm-2:00pm Wednesday, December 2 - 12:00pm-2:00pm Tuesday, December 8 - 12:00pm-2:00pm This may be subject to change after the first distribution. Each child (or parent of the child) will need to go to their respective building to pick up their food.

West Union Elementary will begin virtual learning on Monday, November 16th and will return to in person classes on Thursday, December 10th. Please be sure that your child attends school Friday, November 13th if at all possible. They will receive textbooks, chromebooks, and other supplies.
