
Any WUHS student interested in playing soccer can contact coach Kevin Hunter or be at the field from 4 to 6 pm Monday through Thursday.

The Adams County Ohio Valley School District will be holding informational meetings about the online program in each attendance area this week.
The meeting dates are as follows:
West Union High School, Tuesday, August 10th at 6:00pm.
Peebles High School, Wednesday, August 11th at 6:00pm.
North Adams High School, Thursday, August 12th at 6:00pm.
You do not have to attend the meeting in your child's attendance area. The same information will be given at each meeting.
This is an informational meeting only. Adams Virtual Academy will only be offered to students in grades 7 through 12. At this time we do not offer online classes for elementary students. We will be offering a new online program this year and there are requirements that have to be met before your child can be enrolled.

Congratulations to the Wuhs Barnyard Olympic team for winning the competition held on Sunday at the Adam's County fair. Team members were Seniors Kaitlyn Davis, Bobby Gallowitz, Alexa Rowe, Maddie Taylor, Juniors Branson Grooms, Lauren Grooms, Colby Harover, Blaze MeGarry, and Sophomores Elayna Kingsolver, Chase Taylor. They were coached by Debbie Mcclanahan and Jessica Thompson.


Congratulations to the WUHS Varsity cheerleaders for receiving 2nd place at the Adam's County Fair cheerleading competition last night.

WUHS Athletics is proud to announce that Shawn Palmer has been hired as the new Dragon Varsity Boys Basketball coach next season. Coach Palmer has coached basketball for 24 years at many levels. He has served as the Varsity Boy and Girl Coach at Manchester for five years where he won a SHAC title, four sectional titles and was district runner up. WUHS is excited to that Coach Palmer will be a part of our program and is looking forward to our many successes.


WUHS Athletics is proud to announce that Bernie Cropper has been hired as the new Lady Dragon Varsity Girls Basketball coach next season. Coach Cropper taught at Georgetown and Wilmington for 35 year and has coached varsity basketball for 40 years amassing a 545-231 record. He has won 18 league titles. 12 Southwest District Sectional championships, two Southwest District championships, and his team made the “Elite 8” in 2003. He has been named coach of the year in his league 15 times, OHSBCA coach of the year 3 times and was inducted in the Brown County Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019. WUHS is excited to that Coach Cropper will be a part of our program and is looking forward to our many successes.

Congratulations to Jonathan Macdowell. He competed in ten AAU district 2 track meet at East High School on Saturday and won the high jump event with a jump of 6-4 which is a new personal best.


WUHS Athletics now has a golf cart to assist with outdoor programs, events, and spectators attending those events. The golf cart was purchased through a joint effort between the WUHS Athletic Boosters and Athletic Department.


Our own Leena Blanton and Scotlyn Adams competed At Ohio Northern University on May 30 in a 16U Ohio freestyle state wrestling tournament. Both young ladies placing 3rd qualifying them for the 2021 USA Wrestling Junior and 16U National Championships that
will be held at the FargoDome in Fargo, N.D., July 16-23. They will be wrestling and representing our great state of Ohio. The tournament will also have competition in men’s freestyle, Greco-Roman and women’s freestyle. This summer will mark the 50th USA Wrestling Junior National Championships, a major national high-school competition which has had a tremendous impact on the sport in our nation for a half-century.


Congratulations to Kendra Grooms. Kendra signed her letter of intent to run track at Rio Grande University next year. Kendra is the daughter of Melinda Stroup and Daniel Grooms.
