The varsity track team recently completed at the District track meet. The following Dragons finished in the top eight at the meet. The girls 4x800 team ran a 11:42.46, was 2nd, and qualified for the Regional meet. Team members were Addie Shupert, Makenna Armstrong, Allie McCarty, and Leena Blanton. The girls 4x200 team ran a 1:59, was 8th, and set a new WUHS record. Team members were Kendra Grooms, Makenna Armstrong, Katie Hunter, and Alexis Mason. The girls 4x100 team ran a 55.96 and was 5th. Team members were Kendra Grooms, Makenna Armstrong, Katie Hunter, and Alexis Mason. The girls 4x400 team ran a 4:39.85 and was 5th. Team members were Addie Shupert, Makenna Armstrong, Allie McCarty, and Lauren Grooms. Kendra Grooms jumped 4-10 and was 2nd in the high jump and a regional qualifier. Katie Hunter jumped 4-6 and was 4th in the high jump and a regional qualifier. The boys 4x200 team ran a 1:41.25 and was 6th. Team members were Josh Chitwood, Braxton Blanton, Cameron Campbell, and Cayse Chamblin. The boys 4x100 team ran a 48.91 and was 5th. Team members were Josh Chitwood, Braxton Blanton, Cameron Campbell, and Cayse Chamblin. Jonathan Macdowell jumped 6-0, was 2nd in the high jump, and a Regional Qualifier. Jonathan Macdowell ran a 55.08, was 4th in the 400, and a Regional Qualifier. Congratulations to all track team members as they did an outstanding job.

At last night's school board meeting, the board voted to revise the school calendar. Seniors last day will be Wednesday, May 19th. The last day for students will be Monday, May 24th. Staff will report to work on Tuesday, May 25th as scheduled.
