
Thanks to Rich Harris of Raven's Perch Tattoo Parlor for speaking to the Arts Career Class today. He shared how art became his personal outlet and encouraged students to stay focused and work hard.

4. Interim Reports - Interim Reports will be sent out on February 14th.

On Friday our Ag Careers class had the opportunity to hear from Roger Rhonemus. Rhonemus shared with the students his experiences and varied job responsibilities of farming.


Friday's career speaker for the Arts Careers Class was Alex Newton. Alex is a scenic artist out of IATSE Local. She shared with students how she works a number of projects from museum displays, amusement park displays and movie sets. Very interesting presentation.


This is West Union Elementary. With school being closed tomorrow, we will be offering virtual classes. Teachers will send out assignments tomorrow morning and will be available for Q & A at 1:00. Links will be sent out at that time. Monitor Class Dojo and Google Classroom for those assignments. If your child is unable to complete their assignments virtually, they will be given an opportunity to make up at a later time. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this.

WUES Ag students heard from OSU Extension Office 4-H Youth Development Educator Kristy Watters speak about her career. It was very interesting for the students to get a behind the scenes look at what it takes to make 4-H run smoothly. Thanks to Mrs. Watters for taking the time to speak to our students.


Mrs. Amy Sheeley shared with students today about the career in Theater Design and Technology. She shared several tools with students and discussed the various skills needed for the varied jobs in her field. It was definitely a very interesting presentation!

The Adams County Ohio Valley School District will be closed on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. We delayed earlier today; however, after closely monitoring the weather a decision was made to close tomorrow for student safety. If able, students will complete work virtually as an online learning day.

On Friday students in our Ag Careers class had the opportunity to hear Dalton Black from United Producers Inc. speak about his job in Livestock Marketing.



Matt Sheeley presented with students on Friday about his career as a Production Manager for SPL. Matt travels the world with his job and was able to share about his career and other similar careers in Arts. Students enjoyed sharing their artwork and future dreams with Mr. Sheeley.



With dangerously cold weather forecasted for next week, we are preparing for the possibility of transitioning to virtual learning. While no decision has been made yet, we want to be ready in the event that school needs to be closed.
Chromebooks have been sent home with students in grades 3–6 who require them. Below is the schedule we will follow if virtual learning becomes necessary.

A big shoutout to all the students who participated in our school’s Snowman Trap STEM challenge during the snow days! Each student came up with creative and innovative designs to trap the snowman using their STEM skills, and we couldn’t be more impressed with their problem-solving abilities. Great job to everyone who took part
