Can you Catch a Snowman? We are excited to announce a friendly competition inspired by the book "How to Catch a Snowman"! Students will work on designing and building the best snowman trap using various materials.
How will this work? Students will read the book "How to Catch A Snowman" or listen to the read aloud at: https://youtu.be/Xtd-mTRcu7U?si=0MkkNwLLoF_gQgBy. After reading the book they will design and then create a trap that will lure and then catch the snowman. Email the pictures to ben.king@ovsd.us. Mr. King will buy the winning student lunch from their favorite West Union restaurant and will be announced on Monday, January 13th.
It’s a great way for students to learn about engineering while having fun. We can’t wait to see their amazing creations!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
This message is to share information regarding ACOVSD’s plans for virtual learning. If we miss school on Thursday, Friday and next Monday, our school will transition to virtual learning starting on Monday, January 13th.
To ensure that all students can participate in online classes via Google Classroom, it is essential that they have access to a device. If your child does not have a working device at home, we will be offering a Chromebook pickup at the school from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2025 and Friday, January 10, 2025. Pre school parents will not have to access a device to complete work during virtual learning days.
Our district will continue to monitor weather and road conditions over the weekend. In the event we are not in school on Monday, January 13, 2025, students will be participating in virtual learning through the Google Classroom platform. Upon returning to normal school operation, students will be required to return their Chromebook and charger if they received one from school.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we prepare for this possible shift to virtual learning. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
